  1. No..I know for a fact that some of the older DVD players won't play copied or home made video dvd's.
  2. No ! not all DVD's will play dual-layer, you need to check the specs of the DVD player to see if it plays dual. Dual layer DVDs is a new technology and hopefully the newer DVD players will be able to handle that, but u need to make sure it does.
  3. Dual layer DVD is same as the single layer DVD, only difference is that you can record on both the sides. The video storage will be double the single layer disc. You need to check whether the disc is DVD-R /DVD-RW /DVD+RW. All the DVD players wont play all the discs. You need to check the User Manual for the differen usable discs with the DVD player.
  4. Recent (last 5 years) DVD players will all play dual-layer DVDs. Many movies are distributed on dual-layer discs. However, there may be problems even with new players playing recordable DVDs of either type (DVD+R, DVD-R), and worse problems with recordable dual-layer discs. This is because the signal strength on recordable discs is much less than on manufactured discs, and depending on the quality of the recorder and the media, some players will have trouble.
