Dual Screen DVD Player

I got a DVD player from Zone 1 (USA). Can I play it in India by doing any modification. If so how and where?

1. The machine itself will work anywhere you have a compatible power supply, the zone coding only restricts which DVDs you can use. Not all DVDs are zone coded, but most "big movie" releases are.
2. The whole idea of the Zones is to prevent people from watching content not intended for those countries. You can use is to watch any DVD from Zone 1. But if the manufacturer made the DVD player as they should, that will be all you'll be able to play in it. However, there have been DVD players that can be hacked to allow region free Playback. Some even do it out of the box, but don't specify it on the packaging. Find a DVD disc from another Zone and give it a try it may just work, but if not you'll have a hard time finding a way around it. Short of buying one in India.
