Can portable dvd player movie be restarted where it was when turned off?

I bought a portable DVD player to use while working out at a fitness club. I want to use it to watch a movie while using an elliptical machine. After my 20 minute workout, I need to turn the DVD player off. Next time I work out, can the DVD player movie start where it was when I turned it off??

1. no you will have to remember what chapter (scene selection) you were on and go back to that chapter
2. mine does, i guess it depends on the type of portable dvd player you own. but more than likely yes.
3. alot of them can like coby, toshiba, and sony. mine is a coby and you can shut it off without even pauseing it and it will pick up where it left off.
