Dual Screen DVD Player

What happened to my portable dvd player?

I have a polaroid pdv-0700 portable dvd player. It worked fine until last night when I turned it on to watch a movie, and suddenly the screen didn't work. It still plays sound, but the screen only shows either thin horizontal black and white stripes, or all white fading into a thick black verticle stripe of to the right side. What happened, and how can I fix it?

3. Sounds like it's been dropped - screens of laptops often do the same after being dropped.
4. I have the EXACT same dvd player and the EXACT same problem. Maybe it's a flaw with the model.
